Fans of the DC Extended Universe have been waiting for Amber Heard‘s departure from the series since news of her personal difficulties with ex-husband Johnny Depp became public. Despite the evident pressure from fans and human rights campaigners, Warner Bros. has stated that the controversial actress will not be leaving the company.
In truth, Heard is still set to appear in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, but her position in the DCEU sequel has reportedly been decreased in light of her previous scandals.
Depp’s fans continue to call for the 36-year-removal old’s from the DC universe as Amber‘s DCEU future appears to be coming to an end. Heard has been a prominent issue on social media for a long time, and while some people support her, the fact remains that the vast majority of people doubt her innocence.
The internet petition calling for her removal from Aquaman 2 has resurfaced. The Change.org petition, which first gained traction in 2020, continues to gather interest as the defamation lawsuit between the Pirates of the Caribbean actor and the actress progresses.
The petition that demands to expel Amber Heard from Aquaman 2 presently has 4.2 million signatures and is rapidly approaching 4.5 million.
Despite how inspiring the effort is, I don’t believe the internet petition against Amber will have a significant impact on her DCEU future. Obviously, the outcome of her upcoming trial with Depp will be the decisive factor, and I, like everyone else, am wishing for the truth to triumph.
The theatrical premiere of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has been pushed back to March 17, 2023.
