Amazon Studios has dropped the trailer for the forthcoming film, adapted from Olen Steinhauer’s self-titled spying book, which will be helmed by David Fincher. The film, which features Chris Pine and Thandiwe Newton, has been in production for a long time and will eventually premiere on April 8 in certain cinemas and on Amazon Prime Video.
It centers on two reunited ex-lovers and former coworkers as they relive the events that led up to their split in order to determine who is the double agent that betrayed their agency years ago.

Janus Metz, a Danish director, directs All the Old Knives based on an adaptation of Steinhauer. Thandiwe Newton (Westworld), Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix films), Chris Pine (Wonder Woman 1984), and Jonathan Pryce (The Two Popes) are among the cast members.
Pine is most recognized for his portrayal of Captain Kirk in the new Star Trek films and for his role as Steve Trevor in DC Comics’ Wonder Woman flicks. Since his outstanding performance in 2006’s Smokin’ Aces, the actor has spread his wings on a variety of movies, including Z for Zachariah, Outlaw King, and Hell or High Water. Newton is most recognized for her roles in Mission Impossible II, and Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Good Cat-and-mouse thrillers haven’t been around in a while, and All The Old Knives is evocative of Tinker Tailor Soldier Espionage or The Russia House or No Way Out in that it combines the thrills and tension of a spy thriller with romance, which nearly always ends in a bitter double-cross. For espionage flicks, the trailer’s slow-burning pace works effectively since it helps to develop suspense.
