Following its release on Friday, March 31, Murder Mystery 2 starring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston reportedly broke a new Netflix streaming record.

The second-largest debut weekend on the streamer was officially achieved by the comedic sequel. It broke the previous record set by its predecessor with more than 42 million viewers in the first three days. The film has also cracked the Top 10 list of Netflix movies in 91 nations.
James Vanderbilt wrote the screenplay for Murder Mystery 2, which is being directed by Jeremy Garelick (The Binge). Mark Strong, Melanie Laurent, Jodie Turner-Smith, Enrique Arce, and Kuhoo Verma join Sandler and Aniston in this ensemble. The cast also includes Zurin Villanueva, John Kani, Dany Boon, Annie Mumolo alongside Tony Goldwyn, and Adeel Akhtar.
Sandler, through Happy Madison, and Aniston, through her Echo films label, are producing the follow-up. Producers include Vanderbilt, James Stern of Endgame Entertainment, Allen Covert of Happy Madison, and Tripp Vinson of Vinson Pictures.
