We can confirm that Drago, a new Creed spinoff from screenwriter Robert Lawton, is now being worked on at MGM. The studio declined to respond when approached by reporters.

The plot of the movie is being kept a closely guarded secret. However, we’ve heard that it will focus on the same-named Russian fighter, played by Dolph Lundgren (before seen in Creed II in 2018 and Rocky IV in 1985), and his son Viktor Drago (Florian Munteanu), who has only appeared in Creed II.
The Creed series, which debuted in 2015, is a spinoff of Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky sports brand, which debuted with the legendary 1976 film of the same name. Michael B. Jordan plays Apollo Creed’s son Adonis in the upcoming Creed 3—he also directs the film, which is set to be released on March 3, 2023. MGM/United Artists Releasing moved the release date from November 23, 2022, to March 3, 2023, at the end of May.
Lawton previously wrote the concept script Becoming Rocky, which examined the creation of the Sylvester Stallone franchise rocket. He also wrote, directed, and performed in the 2006 rom-com Sex & Sushi, as well as the 2012 thriller Crave, which was directed by Charles de Lauzirika.
