It seems that it is a fabulous week for Lena Headey’s fans. After revealing she’s prepared to debut as a film director, 9 Bullets – the next movie of the Game of Thrones alum, just announced the release date in theaters and on-demand. The forthcoming action movie trailer was shared by Screen Media Films; furthermore, it is confirmed to hit theaters and your screens on April 22. The story describes a former dancer who determines to save a young boy (and his dog) after he sees his parents’ assassination.

The trailer reveals that leading lady Gypsy (Headey) encounters the child she’ll rescue after he commits a failed escape effort. By saving the boy, nevertheless, she quickly draws the attention of the local gang that wants to kill the boy. Therefore, Gypsy has no choice but to combat and destroy everyone who stops her path, even if her life might be dangerous — and it definitely will be.
The rest of the cast of 9 Bullets is also indicated in the trailer. Sam Worthington (Avatar) plays Gypsy’s ex, who is a local crime boss, Dean Scott Vasquez (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts) as the boy in risk , and Cam Gigandet (Twilight) as a fierce gang member. The cast members also include La La Anthony (Power), Barbara Hershey (Black Swan), and Martin Sensmeier (Westworld). Gigi Gaston (Rip it Off) is the writer and director of 9 Bullets; especially, she compares her individual relationship with mythical parody entertainer Gypsy Rose Lee as her greatest motivation to write the movie. Lee’s memoir was so strong that it became a globally popular musical by the late Stephen Sondheim. Gaston assumes that Lee’s brilliance and command to control a full room oriented her to the actual meaning of “girl power.”
9 Bullets will be released in theaters and on demand on April 22.
